UTOPiAfest

UTOPiAfest is exactly what its name implies. A utopia away from the city where you can embrace the dirty hippie hiding (to various degrees) inside us all while enjoying music by the likes of Calliope Musicals, Les Hay Babies, the Sheepdogs, and Wild Child (and so many more). Once again you can find more pictures and many more words written about our UTOPiAfest 2015 experience over at Anon Magazine.

Kerry + Andrew

Right now it seems like we'll never get a break from this heat. It's far too hot to even be considered safe, and it's far too hot to spend any significant amount of time outside. Unfortunately for Kerry and Andrew, I'm a huge fan of outdoor shots. We headed out last Saturday morning and I pointed my magic camera in their general direction. We nearly melted during our shoot but I still think it was worth it, just check out this couple!

Ashley + Todd

Two weeks ago I did something I've never done before.  I shot a wedding by myself and, for the first time EVER, took pictures for people I did not know. I think I was more nervous than the couple! Luckily, the day went perfectly and the pictures turned out amazing!

It was obvious to me pretty quickly that Ashley and Todd (and their friends and family) have a lot of love for one another and a LOT of fun with each other. I had such a good time spending the day with them, and I hope you enjoy checking out some pictures of the Sawinski-Stranahan wedding!

Molly + Craig

I had to google "Engagement photo ideas for cool people" to prepare for this shoot with Molly and Craig and I think it really served me well. After loosening up with some drinks at Whisler's we wandered around East Austin and got into some weird stuff. At one point we found an AA self-help book and just ran with it...

With a pair this cute I'm not at all surprised the photos turned out as well as they did.

Congratulations you two!!

Soul of a Musician- Elizabeth McQueen

There's something pretty cool happening every Sunday down at the Iron Cactus. The Soul of a Musician Series brings artists from near and far down to play an intimate and unique concert where audience and artist interact. It's hosted by St Matthews and while there usually is a theme of spirituality throughout the night, it's more about great artists sharing their music and the meanings behind some of their favorite songs.

You can read more about the series here

Elizabeth McQueen, who toured with Asleep at the Wheel for many years, played a great set on March 1st, featuring a surprise appearance by Erin Ivy
